I have no training or no one to teach me what I am doing to make a website. A few weeks ago i started building a website using dreamweaver. I have built everything using .htm for page names. Now I have come to the point where I need to add log ins for users, links to download things, and links for payments to me. I was looking over some things on the net and everything i come across points to i have been building things wrong and need to build the site with php and others. Is this true? I can't do what i would like to do using .htm, and if so can i just resave my .htm pages i have already built as .php and continue my work?

If you want to use php then it will depend on what type of server you are using. If it is Linux then you should be able to use php, but if it is something else then you will want to check with your hosting company.
