A newbee question

I'm new to the entire page building stuff, and my question will probably reflect that.
In my web page I have a list, lets say of names. I want that every time a name is clicked, a short text will appear below it, and when another is clicked, that text will disappear, to be replaced by a new one.
How is this effect called and how can I create it?

dhtml and layers, you set them visible and set them invisible. If you stick around I can write some code. But I am going to bed soon so I might not get it up till tomorrow mourning

I was going to write some code but I dont have time to write it out so that when you click another menu it goes away, just when you click the same one. I was trying to adapt the drop downs on www.paxonradio.vze.com . I am busy because I have to go to the computer store today, and then I am going out of town.
