I've been using Notepad++ for a long time, but I've yet to get the Aspell plugin spellchecker to work. I've used the executable files for both the application and a dictionary (win xp), taken the defaults which puts the app in c:\program files\aspell and then tries to dump the dictionary in the very same root folder. When I close notepad and reopen it and try to use the spell checker, notepad crashes. Both executable files have a file name that seems to be common, so the dictionary executable is overwriting a file in the Aspell directory if it is downloaded to that directory.
If I put the dictionary anywhere else, every time I try to run the spell checker it asks me to adjust the relative path to the aspell-15.dll, but that path is correct and when I close that window, the whole spell checker closes.
Anyone happen to know where the dictionary is suppose to be installed? It really shouldn't be this difficult...
TIA,
cfh
