how come theres ICQ, Yahoo and AIM instant messaging address options for profiles but no MSN?

heh, but the msn uses email so you can just use your email address.
edit: oh yea, emails are hidden. Ok using msn would mean the emails would be unhidden which would leave this forum open to spam bots :p

Why not have it like some places I've seen where it shows a msn button and when you click it will take you to a page where you can fill in a message and your msn name and send them a message. The msn e-mail would never be shown! ;)

It wouldn't be that hard I would think. :)

You could also do the good ol' email_address[at]domain[dot]com or some such thing.

but then the user would have to go back and retype it since to send an im in msn you are prompted for an address but you cannot change it right above the conversation unlike yahoo or aim.

You'd think the writers of bots would re-code their apps so people who use the [at] and [dot] loop holes would not be exempt from them...

why need when u have pm to chat, by the way u too have email address to contact them.
