I hope this is the appropriate place to ask this question.
1. I need your expertise and advice. I need a good server-side "listserv" kind of program that will allow a small discussion group (200-300) to be able to send questions and responses to each other very easily. Also, those communications need to be able to be archived by subject matter (preferably).
What do all of you think is the best product I can purchase for this purpose? I really need simplicity - for my sake, as well as the group. Although they are highly educated people, when it comes to making logical choices on the Internet, they somehow lose all traces of common sense.
2. This is apparently going to be the harder of the two questions. I also need a server-side conference/event registration application (software, whatever) to put within a Web site. I know there are many customizable Web-based products available that can be manipulated to look just like my Web pages, but I cannot have the registrants leaving my site for any reason. (Not my rule - my client's rule.)
Our server is a Windows servers. Other than being compatible with that, I really don't care what type of platform we use.
I have read several of the other threads on this board, and you folks seem to be very resourceful and knowledgeable. I am counting on it.
I need to put this in a proposal today - thus the "urgency."
