need help

Hello I am new on here,I am in need of some help.I tried to get into a play a game on line and it refused to let me.The reason for this was ,It said I need java script.well I was Lost straight away I thought most pc came with java all ready loaded in.But I have a java file but i'm sorry to say its empty.Now I was wondering if any one could help me has I am not sure what to download into my pc so that I can play java game's etc on line Look forward to a reply and thank you very much. please please can some one help me. :confused: :confused: :confused:
