Hi,

I've been asked by my sister if I can help here to develop a small site on which she can sell some products that she makes. I've got a bit of experience making sites with html and css but that's about it.

I've never done e-commerce before, but would like to create the site myself so that I can learn how to do this. I've seen in various places that PayPal is ideal for the payment method I am wanting. She's not expecting very many sales but just thinking about possible issues, stock has reared it's head.

Each piece she creates is unique, there will only be one of every item, but theoretically, without a stock control or count then two people could choose to buy an item unless it automatically shows the item as sold out after a single sale.

I've no idea how I would manage to do this and would really appreciate some guidance on how such could be done.

Thanks very much

SAtkin

After many struggles trying to implement MySql and PHP and see what was happening, I’ve plumped for Mal’s e-cart.
