Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : A lot of outgoing links should I no follow?
I have not thought about this until now. I have an abnormal amount of outgoing links to other sites, tens of thousands. My site has been live for about 5 months and I have not set no follow to these links.
Would it be a good idea to? Could this be negatively effecting me?
Thanks
No help with this?
I cant decide whether to add a no follow to all my outgoing links..

I would have added nofollows to prevent even more outgoing links. You lose page rank if you have too many of them.
Thanks tarzan I will add no follow now!

good for you that you have added "no-follow" attributes to your site because it will secure your site from spam links..

- a link is your vote for another website to rank better
- nofollow link is NOT a vote for another website to rank better
and nofollow was invented by google to give you a chance link to spam and scam sites with no penalty to your site (like not because you vote for them, but because you just mention them)
something like this...
but... If you have 100 liters of link juice flowing to your home page... and you have 100 links... 1 liter flows to each link.
HOWEVER
if 50 of the links are nofollow - they do not receive link juice at all...
you might be thinking that the rest 50 will receive 2 liters of link juice now
NO!!!!
the rest of the links will keep receiving 1 liter
even if you have 99 nofollow links and only 1 do-follow.. it will still receive only 1 liter
That is why....
1. keep the number of links on the pages (that you want to rank well) as less as possible
2. if you want to keep your link juice inside your site - don't link outside your site
in other words
on the homepage of your website you should have no more than 10 links and all of them to your site pages (utopia LOL)
