recommendation for imaging software wanted

Hi

I need some software to work on photos'. I don't need anything too sophisticated, or expensive. I have been using Paint-Shop Pro up until now but I have a new computer and it is no longer valid or available. I know that Corel now have 'Photo-Shop Pro' but I don't anything about it.

Does anyone have any recommendations ?
