I see a couple of things missing.
You should have a header of sorts, including:
Content-type: text/html: CHARSET=US-ASCII
Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT
Also, you are missing the <body></body> tags just inside the <html> and </html>.
I don't think most email clients require much more than that, but I could be wrong.
Good luck,
Chipzzz

Sorry, the first header should have been:
Content-type: text/html; CHARSET=US-ASCII
I dont mean to sound like an idiot but...
Ive now got the <body></body> inside the <html> but could you try and explain about how and where I should put the headers,
Thanks you

Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT

Best of luck,

No its still not working for me
It works when I press preview, but that worked first time before I tried your suggestion. Just when it sends it comes through as code.

Are you sending it through Outlook? It's best to send through a program such as Constant Contact or Mail Chimp.
Thanks Chipzzz and cbVision, Ive just signed up for mail chimp and got then sent off now, cheers for both of your help :)

Sorry it couldn't be done client-side. Glad you found a work-around, though.
Good luck with your newsletter.

remember that on email newsletter, make sure that all your images are named with no spaces as they will not display properly

If you had Outlook, Outlook Express or the new Windows Mail, you could have edited in Source and inserted everything you needed for content between the "div" tags. All the other code including MIME type would have been there already.
Many people don't know that you can insert HTML inside the actual email coding. It's the way I send videos by putting in the actual media code. You can only do this after you have clicked Compose/Create New Mail for new mail to be sent. Look under View menu and select Source Edit.
