Well, folks, I've been at it again. If you could take a look at www.StudentLoungeOnline.com for me and offer your comments, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you in advance,

Chipzzz

Unless something really big and important goes into the section with the text, "Lowering the cost of higher education.", then it is way to big! Shorten it up some to bring the other content up above the fold. It shortens on some pages, but not nearly enough for whats it in. Your headings that fit into the previously mentioned section should be centered, since you have the other heading next to it centered. Consistency with design elements is important. The text of the actual menu options on the right are blending into the background too much. Make them bold, possibly slightly bigger, and a little darker.
Beyond that, i like the design, its very well put together, and your forum is well integrated with it. You wouldn't believe how many places have their forums looking completely separate from the rest of their site.

Thank you once again! You're right that the elements should be consistent but I was thinking I might place a logo or something like that at the top of the right column rather than that heading. Since it's the only thing on the page that is centered other than the entire body, of course, that might be a better choice. I just sort of liked the way it look like a paper cutout, though... I'll have to give it some thought. Thank you, though, you're quite right that something should be done with it.

There's no question that the area with "Lowering the cost of higher education." needs either to be shortened, or the text lengthened. I was thinking the latter, but wanted to do something SEO friendly. This needs some more thought as well.

The menu text... I'm not so sure about... It's the default that came with the theme (Leow Kah Thong, the author, has his credit at the bottom of the page) and I think his work on this template is exemplary. I'm not so sure that the overall contrast, with the dark wooden background wouldn't look gaudy if I increased the contrast, and it looks pretty good on both of my monitors as it is. Finally, the target audience is college students who, by and large, are young and sharp-eyed. I might leave that aspect alone for the time being and see if anyone else chimes in with a similar suggestion.

Once again, I am indebted to you for your contribution, and thank you, by the way, for the compliment about the forums. I can't take credit for it, as it is merely a benefit of using Drupal as a CMS, but a kind word is always welcome ;) .

I think I have enough to work on for a little while, so I'll get on with that, but thank you again for your time and expertise. I appreciate it very much.

Have a nice evening,

Chipzzz
