Mysterious .dct and .dcm file extensions

Hi! I'm not a technical person but I have a huge technical problem. Somehow 30% of my files mysteriously had .dct and .dcm extensions added to the file names. This happened to .doc, .ppt, .pdf and Excel files.

Pretty please tell how me I can retrieve my data. These are work files and I am truly struggling.
