if its a page yes you can include a php members type page so that it checks for a cookie thats put when the user logs in.

If its not a page than i dont know of a way.

That probably depends on the particular web server. If you put that file in a dir by itself then any server should be able to protect it.

I am going to have a directory with list of files I want to be viewable, but I need to have just 1 file in that directory either "invisible", yet accessible, or visible and unaccessible (was I vague enough? :) )

If it's too complicated to accomplish, - not to worry, it is nothing big, no sweat.
