So I use dreamhost, and I have about 6 domains on my account.
3 of them when you go to the site, you get a gumblar virus. The other 3 you dont.
Of the 3, only one of them has a phpmyadmin database connected to it. The other two I haven't touched in months.
So only half are infected, one of the infected is used all the time...
This I can't explain.
The reason I know there's a virus is because as soon as you go to my sites it says on my symantec SID: 23616 HTTP Gumblar Request detected.
However, I need this virus off my server immediately, and I'm kind of freaking out about it. I can't have my users going to the site and getting viruses.
But what are the appropriate steps to take to fix this situation? Do I backup all the files on my server and delete them? But aren't the files infected? How can I clean them? And can I backup and keep my database with it's data? Please help!!!:eek::confused:
