IE View Zoom Feature

Since my 20" monitor decided to quit on me, I only have my 17" to work with.
Even though the webpages look ok in this monitor, I know from past experience that sometimes the webpages may render differently in a 20"+ monitors.
In using IE, if I open the view tab and zoom out the browser to 75%-50%, would this be equivalent to viewing the webpage in a larger monitor?

Since my last post, I got another monitor.
But I did discover a free online site that you can test your website, in various screen resolutions. You just type in your URL and select the resolution you want (also includes view in the Iphone). Neat site.
