Hi

I know that bluetooth and wi fi are both wireless technologies which are independent from each other.

As they both create wireless networks, do I have the same problems security in both?Or maybe wi fi has different problems because more powerful than bluetooth?

Many Thanks

Both have their security issues, generally different because their technology is different (though both work as a packet based communication level). But don't think you are safe because bluetooth has a shorter range. Hackers have shown you can hack into a bluetooth phone from a mile away with the appropriate equipment. Sure the security holes they exploited were closed, but how many times have we heard that before?

Bluetooth should only be used for conecting peripheral devices or pairing devices like mobile phones, sat navs and in car stereo systems when appropriate. At all other times you should be using a WiFi connection, especially when networking computers. The main reason being that bluetooth has no secure layer of encryption.

Simply put...

PC connect to PC... Use a network connection
PC connect to Phone... Use the device cable or Bluetooth or even WiFi if supported.
Non-PC to other Non-PC device... Bluetooth! As that is what it was designed for...

One thing you should NEVER do is use Bluetooth to network computers...
