How can I pop-up a select box upon clicking on a link, which after selection, defines a form variable, and then submits the form?

a bit like alert() but a select box instead?

of course you can use a simple open window function...

By the way this a php forum. If no one answers in the JS forum than it could be a reason that your question is not clear.
