New image changing on the homepage every time you logo on

Hi, I'm a grphic designer and know very little about java script. I've been making a website for a friend and they want a different image to appear on their home page every time you go onto the site. I'm sure this is really simple and have seen it done on numerous sites (eg.tiffany.com) but don't know how to do it. Would appreciate any help anyone has to offer.

I tried the second script, and changed the gifs in the script to my two different jpgs and uploaded it but it doesn't seem to work. The code is all in the right place - should I be changing something else as well as the giffs?

umm... ok, to tell u honestly I don't know really much about javascript, but i really wanted to help you.

Ok, what i would do if i were you is to:
-check the spelling. It has to be exactly case sensitive
-Then, if that doesn't work, then try to actually include the address of the picture. The WHOLE address. like http://www.yourwebsite.com/yournameifexists/imagename.gif

if those don;t work, try refreshing many times, the tifanny website, i had to refresh twice for the image to change!

right well its doing it however its placing the same image underneath itself and changing that rather than changing the image itself - strange. Putting in the full link worked though, so thats great

But you could ask a wiz like pittiman to help, i think he's online now!

by the way, if ur free, ONLY if ur free, you could make a logo for my website, www.dragonslair.co.nr and since ur there, have a look at the coding section of the computer area. There are loads of scripts there that you could use

ur best bet is to go and post this question again, but not in the same words, since it may get blocked, so ask them what is wrong with the script. :)
