My client wants a new site which is going to be quite big. I have been recommended Joomla but not used it properly yet.

My client knows what they want their website to look like and was wondering if I could make the site from scratch the convert it to joomla later on? (or is this too complicated to do?)

Do I have to use templates or can i still design manually (using dreamweaver) and still use the functionality of Joomla is what I'm asking.

Thanks

I've used joomla before and I find it very hard to make themes in the first place. Now converting a website is probably even harder. If you are familiar with php, then you could probably convert your website to a joomla template. On the other hand, their are so many variables in joomla, wordpress, and drupal, that it would be easier just to make a joomla template rather than making your own and then converting it.

Hopes this helps.

joomla offers number of features with it and if your client wants to add any additional functionality that you can give easily through joomla extensions.

I think dreamweaver suppport now Joomla templates. There are also some software support to create Templates without knowing details...

Check URL like:

Let me know if you tested and result please.
