Domain or hosting?

HI,

Simple and easy question. What the different between domain and hosting?

i've just wrote my first website in php and mysql. Now i have to deploy on the web.

what do you advise me?

Hosting is the computer and system that your website files will be stored on, and which will display your files to anyone who wants to look at them.

Domain name is the address which people will type in to access your site. Domain name directs requests (Web, email, FTP, etc...) made by users to the appropriate computer. You can set up a domain name to direct different services to different computers if you want (for instance, if you wanted your web site to be hosted with one company, but your email through another).

You can do domain name and hosting with a single company, or have separate companies provide each service. Hope that helps.

Hosting and domains can usually be bought together.

Hosting is basically the contents of your website, while domain names allow the contents to be found.
