Hello,

i have purchased the following flash template from a template site:

http://s290162753.onlinehome.us/

I uploaded the template exactly as it came after purchase without tampering with anything.

If you play with the template a bit you will notice that while in the portfolio, when you click on an icon for the larger image to load, at times only the frame loads without the image and then when you click on the right and left arrows the template freezes completely.

Now the strange thing is that this never happens if I run the template off my own computer, only on the server. (I have 1and1)

so i contacted the template company and they told me they could not help since they tested the template and it never does that to them. they even sent me a link to try.

So I am wondering, since i made no changes to the template and it is the exact same thing that they are using without problems, what could be causing these issues with me?

I am not too familiar with how flash works and wondering what could cause such a problem. Could there be something wrong with how I am uploading the template to the server (filezilla)? Or could there be something wrong with my server (1and1) that conflicts with flash?

Is there anything else that could be different between my site and the one the template people are using?

Are the images in a separate directory on the webserver?

Can you bring them up individually in the browser without the flash app?

The images are in the same folder as the index.htm file but the swf is in it's own folder. I have not yet tried to bring up the images manually but keep in mind that this does not happen all the time. So the same image will work sometimes but not at other times. Play around with it a bit if u have a chance.

ok. did some more testing and the behavior of the template is exactly as it would be if a picture was missing.

so there is a thumbnail and if u click on it it goes to the large picture. if i delete one of the large pictures the template behaves the same way as described above.

so for some reason, every now and then the flash is unable to find one of the pictures on the server. this seems to be the case even more so when i have a lot more pictures then the 12 the template came with.

could there be a reason why flash would not find a picture some times and find it other times?

could it be a problem with 1and1? has anyone else ever run into a problem like this?

request URL:http://s290162753.onlinehome.us/tfile_gall_4_1000.jpg

the only errors i see on images is when they end with 1000.

Does that mean anything to you?

not really...

there are no images that end with 1000. usually they go from 1-12.

really curious how u found the name of that image...

In this particular case, I used Safari's development tools. But most browsers have built in functionality for this or there is an add on.

Firebug for firefox is most help full. But for resource examination, Safari will do.

See attached.
