I was inspired by this thread (http://forums.webdeveloper.com/showthread.php?threadid=23087) to make my own design site. Please review my site:

The colors are a bit out there and it doesnt have much of a layout. It is valid and everything but its just looks like a horizontal row or links and some text and some colors splashed around it to me. :(

As said before, the colors are ok. Font names with spaces in them need to have double quotes around them, ie "Berlin Sans FB"

What's so "out there" about the colors? I wanted to make the site stand out, 'cause I'm tired of all the sites with plain backgrounds.
Funky colors is not the type of "stand out" you should be looking for... ;)

I'd agree, standing out is good, but not for the wrong reasons. Perhaps you could play around with the colors more.

"I've chosen a black background for most of my text because it's easier on the eyes than staring at a white screen. Think about it: your monitor is not a piece of paper, no matter how hard you try to make it one. Staring at a white background while you read is like staring at a light bulb (don't believe me? Try turning off the lights next time you use a word processor). Would you stare at a light bulb for hours at a time? Not if you want to keep your vision." Maddox

Okay, I changed the colors. Let me know what you think. The background is off-white (#F0F0F0).

Looks better I think. But I had an idea, what if you went with a simple gradiant. Just a thin image that would span 100% on the y axis of your site and repeat on the x axis? Just some more spare change I had in my pockets.

The off-white color doesn't work with your Logo, and not with your link colors and such. I have some obsessive complusive disorder about having a black background and have everything else some sort of red color... :D
I'd change the background, or the other colors.

How 'bout now?

I am a blue person, like I said I would use a gradiant to fade from the top to the bottom, make it a smooth transition... but thats just me. It would be a blue gradiant....

I like a lot of contrast but I cant stand black and white... thats just me. I can have black and white if there is a border or something but if its all black and white I just can't read it... too boreing

Thanks, soccer! :)
Anyway, the black and white is kinda growing on me. It lets the logo stand out, and makes it easy to read. I love blue too, but I don't think it would fit with the logo. Keep the comments coming! :)

This might be a bit trivial, but there seems to be a tiny weeny space under the "current" link. Also, a weeny bit of the bottom of your logo is sliced off by the navigation. Also, I would suggest changing your regular link color to something besides pink, it doesn't really go with the black/white motif.
But it's lookin' good!

The color is #AA6666. On my computer, it appears as a rusty red/orange. I don't see any space under the link. What browser?
I've tested in:
Windows ME:
IE 6
Mozilla (1.5, I think)
Firebird 0.7
Opera (7, I think)
Mac OSX
IE 5.2
Safari 1.0
and there aren't any noticable errors.

Change the dashed link border to solid. "Welcome!" shifts around based on the screen size, the rest of the site doesn't. I would center the site like your "Welcome!" is. Indent your <p> tags that are within your <div> content so they are inside of your <h2> tags. A nice lighter blue would work better for your non-menu links.

The color also looks pink to me, and I see the space that they are talking about.
Mozilla 1.5 on Win 2K Pro.

Could somebody please explain to me why young people have a obsession with black and red web designs? All the more so when it's about music, or games.

Yup :D
PunkSktBrdr01,
Link colors look pink to me, and I was checking out the page in FireBird 0.7, I've fallen in love. As soon as I downloaded it, I ditched IE, and I have no used it again except for testing, since the majority of the population does not realize that Micro$oft is an eveil organization bent of ruining the world via distribution of evil, crappy products like FrontPage and Internet Explorer.

It's just that kid thing... I guess you have to be a kid to understand ;)

Well, I changed the link colors, and I do like it better this way.
"Welcome!" shifts around based on the screen size, the rest of the site doesn't. I would center the site like your "Welcome!" is.
Not exactly sure what you mean. Welcome shifts because it's centered. The rest of the site stays the same because it's aligned to the left.
Indent your <p> tags that are within your <div> content so they are inside of your <h2> tags.
I know what you mean, but I'm using margins on the heading tags, so that h1 is farthest to the left, and h6 is indented the most. To indent the paragraphs, I would have to make classes for each heading and add the class type to each paragraph. I don't think the end result would be worth it.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Keep 'em comin'! :)

PunkSktBrdr01:
You might want to know that when you mouse over the menus at the top it starts adding white space at the bottom of the page. So the more times you mouse over a menu the longer the page is.

You're using IE, right? That's a bug in IE, and I don't know of any way around that.

Yeah, it is kinda wierd. Never seen it before either. It also happened on IE 5.1 on my friend's Mac OS 8.6 when I opened or closed the favorites/history side panel. Very odd.
