difference between root and parent

Hi Friends,

I am learning AS3 and i want to know the difference between root and parent

i will be thankful if someone can tell me the difference between root and parent

Root is generally the top directory where as Parent is the one above.

Along the same line, a "child" directory would be one immediately below the current one.
