OK tell you what, wait till later and my bro will be home. He's got a law degree, so hopefully he'll be able to explain it all better than I can. As I understand it, you can go LTD or just be a sole trader.
Are you likely to have a partner in business?

Your need to register with companies House: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ and it is best to be Ltd. so your are not liable yourself.
Buying a webdomain is different anyone can have: .com or co.uk, or .org but not .org.uk whereas I can for: http://www.xhtmlcoder.com/worthvalley/ but have chosen not to do because it is not worth the extra money.

The problem with Ltd is that the accountancy fees are higher. All depends on how much money you're making.
Depending on your type of customers, you might want to consider voluntary vat registration.
