What's this gold star stuff on Google ?

I'm really confused about something. First off, what are these gold starred sites on Google ?

On my computer when I do a search for my site by using various terms in the search box I am coming up in really good positions - often at the top of the 1st page - with a gold star. But my wife checked on my site from another computer using the same search terms and my position was completely different - and nowhere near as good ??

Can anyone explain this please :confused::confused:

If you click the gold star beside a search engine listing, the websites link will show up at the top of the page, in a special list, for future searches you do using similar search terms. They are stored into whatever google account is logged in when you click on the star, I think. It is a great way to keep sites you personally prefer at the top of your searches. I use it quite a bit to keep good web dev references at the top of my searches.

lol, if only we could all get top search engine rankings for our sites by just clicking on a gold star! :D Not that that's even feasible, let alone implementable.
