I have a desktop running XP where I keep a lot of large files, and I access them through a shared folder over my home network. It used to work just fine, but lately it says either it isn't accessible, or it requires a login... yet it rejects every user/pass.

There are only two things I've changed on the system recently. I used to use a USB wireless attachment. Now I have it plugged it through network cables. And I installed Mozy.

I've tried everything I can think of to make the network share work. I've granted full file permissions to everyone. I've granted full share permissions to everyone. I've turned off the firewall. And I've made sure the Guest account was active and had a password (though that user/pass combination was still rejected when I tried to access the share).

I'm out of ideas. Does anyone know anything I could try?

maybe system restore, and what is mozy? it's odd but some software installations corrupt or registry, run CCleaner on your computer, and fix all registry keys invalid. Then try again.

Have you tried creating another shared folder and see if you can access that?

Have you tried accessing the folder from a different computer than the one you can't connect with?

Just a couple of thoughts that might be worth checking out.
