SEO for CMS

I was wondering,

Does using an established CMS help with pagerank and positioning?
Google may have more trust in them than in something made from scratch.
I have always made sites from scratch, but this would be a major disadvantage...
Though getting punished for doing something yourself would not seem fair.

I wouldn't think so. The various factors that determine page rank wouldn't be affected by CMS.

Google never mentions this as being a disadvantage, so the chances are very slim that this would effect your pagerank.
