help with html and flash

ok so i have to make a banner. did that. the banner has to link to youtube. did that.. now how to i get this button/banner on my html page.. i dont get how im supposed to put it on? its supposed to be embedded on it. so i uploaded my banner to youtube.. and took the embed off it. but when i do that the link does not work properly. can someone please help me

Your explanation is not really clear. A link to the actual page would help.
So you have a banner..Is the banner displaying a YouTube video? If so, you can't put a button in that video itself and get it to work. You will have to create a button separate from that video. You could z-index a <div> over the top of the banner and put your button in there or you could make one in Flash and play the video inside the same .swf that holds the video.
But using a YouTube video for your banner is asking for trouble. If you own the video, host it on your own site and link to it directly.
