Why do bots keep finding removed forum?

Please excuse the nubee question. My guitar teacher has a website, which had a forum on it. The forum was apparently removed months ago. Analytics show that the bots are still looking for the forum. Is there anything that I can do about this? Why are the bots still looking for it?

I am designing my first website for my guitar teacher and would like to make sure that the bots are only looking for existing web pages.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

if the forums we're removed, what analytics are showing that bots are still looking for it? Do you still have links somewhere pointing to the old location?

You should do a 301 redirect from the forum to the home page. The bots will continue to look for the forum for a while if some external links point to it, and will aways do so if you have some internal links still pointing to it.
