A recent glance at my analytics suggests that IE6 visitors are finally less than 1%! How about the rest of you? How many IE6 visitors do you get?
And do you still ensure your site(s) work in IE6?
EDIT: Looking at the stats for the company I work for, which is in educational publishing and tends to attract the most outdated users alive, the IE6 share is higher, but still not huge: 2.1%.

The company I work for "supports" IE6, but only for an extravagant premium which no client in their right mind will ever bother to pay....been that way for the past six months

All depends on your demographic, I suppose.....
Well, since Microsoft themselves are now suggesting that IE6 not be used (http://ie6countdown.com/), I'd say that the usage should go down even further... Hopefully! :p

Interesting. The charts you folks linked show a bigger user share than my stats reveal. No matter -- as aj_nsc indicated, it depends on your demographic. Though I was curious about what others were doing. And I was particularly interested and pleased to read this nugget:

We outright deny IE6 at my company.
You are using an incompatible web browser.
The web has evolved in the last ten years, from simple text pages to rich, interactive applications including video and voice. Unfortunately, very old browsers cannot run many of these new features effectively. So to help ensure you can use the latest, most advanced web apps, we encourage you to update your browsers as soon as possible. There are many choices:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+
Mozilla Firefox 3.0+
Google Chrome 4.0+
Safari 3.0+
Thank you for your updating.

It's great to learn that development firms are strongly discouraging, if not flat out refusing, to develop IE6 compatible solutions.

Unfortunately, very old browsers cannot run many of these new features effectively.I would be so bold to say the problem is that they aren't running new features effectively, it's that they are running them barely and that's still acceptable to many people so they haven't the inclination to either switch or upgrade. But still, at least it's not IE5 mac. Remember that little gem?

i guess some people who live very very very far away from any form of civilization, with no knowledge of the past 10 years, with such a limited connection that only allows them 10kb a day speed or something, and such an old computer that might blow up and die if something too heavy for it is somehow activated, might want to use old browsers...
its accessibility, really. its always worth it to add a piece of conditional comment with just the plain text of the website, if the text content of the site, aka the static written information worth reading to everybody.
-is what i should say, but i don't wanna code a cool website and for some ppl to just see some static text T_T
