Mac or PC??

Hey guys I am new here to the forums but am seeking some advice. I have a budget of 1400$ USD and am in need of a web developing machine. I currently use my Thinkpad T40 with yes a 20Gb hardrive and its time to step up. I am running windows XP with CS5 Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I keep hearing good things about mac's but could someone tell me the benefits of a mac to developing over a PC?

Personally i've got a PC, but consider that i've assembled it piece by piece, and i love to upgrade my hardware sometimes, thinking in particular at video cards.
Anyway it always depends to personal needs: if your need is only related to web developing, i think the reply to your question could be only one and obvious: Apple forever.
