Yes, that is my question. I feel, article marketing has lost its charm in SEO too as people are more inclined towards forum because here you get to know the point of view of experts and those views are reviewed by everyone. Thus, authenticity of information in forums is way better than articles. Secondly, anyone can participate into a discussion and can express his/her point of view. This way, you can a very impartial views. Thirdly, forums have generally high quality traffic as compare to articles. What do you say about it?

Well IMHO there is no way to compare article marketing with forum posting because both have their own usages and their own benefits regarding SEO and/or internet marketing.
Forum posting would not give a lot of benefit in SEO because of quality of links though it can provide useful a number of good visitors implies the discussion in forums is informative.

It depends on the content itself.
As "content is king", it all depends on where do you express yourself best. If you are able to deliver the quality information in terms of forum replies - stick to that.
On the other hand, some people express themselves better in lengthy articles, rather than in a few sentences.

We know that forum posting is very good method for backlink and can give more reword in long run. But if you want to have quick boost in saturated market; article writing is much better.
or in other word we say that If you do 100 posts in forum and if you publish 5 articles, your 5 articles will put more impact on Google.
