What are some of your interests? Build it based on what you like. I'm sure you can think of something.

How about letting your creativity have a go at coming up with something. How are we suppose to know what you would want to/know enough about to make a site on???

well unless it is something you are really interested in, you are not going to be able to make a very good site content wise and you will loose interest. My suggestion is make a site for a group, a local church, a school club, a gameing clan. Things like this people actually use and it will keep you working on the site.

A hobby; something you enjoy.

A game, a movie, a TV show, an Anime, anything at all that you are interested in.

How about contacting small local businesses that don't have a web presence (and may want one!!) explaining that you are keen to learn more about web design and see if they would like you to build a site for them for free. This way they will give you pointers as to what they would like to have on the site and you will gain invaluable experience in developing a site for them.

Personally, I can see where you are coming from, TV shows, bands etc are done, done and done again (and a lot of the time not that well!)

At one point I wanted to write a site and had no clue what to write about, I was having a coffee and cake in a coffee shop when it occured to me that I was eating a duff cake with a rotten cup of coffee! I decided to write a site reviewing coffee shops.....it's not up yet, a work in progress!! Don't despair, ideas often appear in the most unlikely places!

Write about why you used what you did for your own site. Break down your code, and show why you used the code you did versus other ways of doing it. I'm going through and writing notes of me making a template for a new design and I'm adding the notes as I go along.

You could build a web-shrine to the dark XHTML God.

Mentioning how you learnt to follow path; by following and walking with the master and seeing through the eyes of the master to become the master.

well, i made my website abour parts of GCSE and A level syllabus. it also has a bit of music, jokes, riddles and other stuff. All of my interests are on my website. If you make a website with something u REALLY like, then, the website will automatically be good, because you have paid attention to what u want to do.
Just make a website on jokes or riddles for a start (i started mine with a coding section) then, in no time, it will be gigantic, mine already has 300 pages, i can't get over it yet!
