auto window resize??

i think i have a problem, and i can't see the problem.

here's the deal...
I'v made a site on my own computer (resolution 1024*768) and every time i want to open it on the web it seems that everything is smaller and i can't see it the way i've build it!!! is this normal or is this just a way of putting a small script on the site so that it will run 'normally'???
