I'm so new at this it took me forever to figure out how to post my message!!!

Anyway, I am wondering what the difference is between e-books and websites. I understand that e-books can be encrypted, have passwords and can be downloaded or distributed via CD. I also understand that special soft/hardware is needed to read these books (not certain how true that is.) Can't a person use a website format with a password to publish a simple children's book for profit?? Pros and cons?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
