Is this possible? Does anyone know of an existing code for this? I am not looking for a personal counter, but one that tracks the number of ALL visitors. I've had too many problems with pages when I link out to microsoft's and others....

This has to be done on the server or on a server dedicated to hit count services.

If I were to put it on the server, what would it look like?
I just want a simple text counter, the bells and whistles could come later. I'm just tired of being dependent of services for this.... I want to know how it works, take it apart and rebuild it to suit my own needs...
