since this morning some apps are trying to connect to crl.verisign.com when i open them.
i know that from my firewall of course..

it happens with MS apps: word, excel and even explorer (not IE), and with Norton AntiVirus.

anyone has any idea?
could it be something to do with some authentication proccess?

btw, no new apps were installed.

thanx

well.. i'm worried once something is making various apps on my machine to communicate and send info to some site (even as big as verisign) for no apperant reason (why does word need to connect to verisign in order to open a simple file that untill today was opening without connecting..) - what about my privacy? i think it's understandable why i'm worried..

the strangest thing is that it actually started today on another 2 friends' machines..

any ideas though?

thanx

well it could be doing a number of things. Probably downloading something rather then uploading. go to run, type in command, then type in netstat, chances are you have a connection to 10 - 20 places right now.
