Hello everyone,

I have a website with around 50 000 articles and plan to make a portal and add more articles.

I have tried with Joomla, but when I imported the articles into the database, Joomla was super slow and some pages returned mysql errors.

Do you know a CMS which can handle this and have good performance with many entries?

Look at these:

PHP-Nuke
Midgard
Drupal
Mambo
PHP-Fusion

Hope this helps

Thanks. Have you tried any of these with large amounts of data?

No, but I know some very large companies have used Drupal as well as Joomla.

No matter what you choose, it's gonna be a huge chore moving 50 000+ articles.

You may want to hire some people to do this for you.

Thanks again. I think I'll try Drupal.

Don't worry about moving articles, I've already made a script to migrate them to Joomla, so I guess it won't be a problem to make it for Drupal as well. :)

I'm just saying that it wont be a 5 minute task. Even with the script.

I hope everything works out well. Good luck with everything.
