How to optimize google local listing ?

I ' m in Little bit Trouble. I want my Google Listing to be shown on top of Google Places Page with a certain Keyword. But I don't know how to optimize it? Please help me on that regards. Suggest me what is the best way to get a good ranking in Google Places. Is there any special Tips and Tricks ?

To optimize google local listing get started with Create a Page on Google+ (this assumes you have a Google personal profile already). Then select your category:
• Local Business or Place
• Product or Brand
• Company, Institution or Organization
• Arts, Entertainment or Sports
• Other
