Question of Traffic

Hello,

I know everyone deals with Traffic increases. I was wondering if people could share thier stories of increasing traffic.

Techneques
Calanges
Time takes to increase

Maybe what some have for visits/hits compared to income.

Does anyone really make good money from traffic? ($400 month)

I'm just trying to learn from web developers and not the stupid "Buy Traffic Now" ;)

It takes time to grow...

One thing that works is "link-bait".

Create something with a link inside that others will want to post on their page... when they do, you get a backlink.

I did it with a generator... when people generate a document using my script, it automatically makes a link to my site where it says, "Generated by..."

That worked pretty fast.

Otherwise, just plain old link-building... I put up a system I used for free on a site I built... you can download it in the form of an Excel spreadsheet... follow the instructions to build massive links. ( You can find it here: Submit Page (http://www.submitpage.org) )
ANOTHER TRICK:
Make a video and post it on Youtube with a link. This works very well if it is in an area where people are interested...

I made a video about how to hack webcams and in the text of the video, embedded a link to my site... at one point it was sending me some 5000 per month.

You can also make promotional items or teeshirts...

I made some vintage style tee-shirts and sold them on Zazzle, along with a link to "VintageTeeShirt.com" and at one point, not only was I getting traffic, but was selling $100.00 worth of tee shirts per month (my commission!).

Don't bother buying 'traffic'. Often, this is little more than a slow rolling, randomly generated "DNS Attack" from Russian servers. It's bot traffic.

Otherwise, some sites will sell you popunders on crap-traffic pages as an act of desperation to sell whatever on high traffic crap pages...

RE: Making money from your traffic...

I have one page with Adsense on it that makes over 700 Euros per month.

I have another that makes about 400 Euros from just Adsense. I also have an Amazon store on the same site and it has never sold a single thing.

It depends upon what the keyword is and how many clicks you can get. Some pages get a ton of clicks, but the keyword is not highly paid, or the clicks come from a poor country... I was getting a lot of clicks from Eastern Europe and got pennies for them, while US clicks I have once gotten a $9.00 click on a search-related page. (So there are CLICKS and there are clicks.)

I have two pages monetized with Chitika that get over 2 million pageviews per year and they do about the same... they are not in line with the Google TOS (but do comply with Chitika's), so no Adsense allowed there. :(

Both are over 3 years old and this traffic built over time. A long time.

The best one was quite frustrating... I thought the page was good and was frustrated that it only generated $3.00 per month or so in the beginning... later, it really picked up, but VERY SLOWLY... over time...

I cannot reveal any of the URLs, as it is in violation of the TOS. You will have to take my word for it. :)

Thanks... yea site is a start.

I need to figure out a way to build more users to the site. I'm working with SEO now. I don't like how Google controls the web programming world these days.

Currently I get about 7 cents a day :(
