Password to access parts of web site

I am hoping someone can help me. I am building my first web site. It is for my business. My products are sold through distributors.

The purpose of the site is to fold:

1) For the distributors to be able to direct their customers to my site to view products etc.
2) For the distributors themselves to get pricing, terms of sale, contact information directly to me, etc.

What I need is, to make certain pages in the site password protected so the distributor can open the page but not the general puplic.

I'm sure this is pretty basic stuff for most of you but I am over my head. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

PS. in laguage I can understand please. lol

Check with your webhost to ask how you can password protect a directory would be the fastest route to fixing your issue.
