If anyone has any spare time could they possibly review my new site (www.harrymills.co.uk), I think it has valid CSS but I dont know about the HTML. Its not finished yet but its only a bit more content missing.

Thanks

I have updated the site and validated every page (except the forum which is hosted by xsorbit) so all the CSS and all the XHTML 1.1 is valid.

Thanks

No reason to have it fixed width - the horzontal scroll bar is very unfriendly.
Your content can use some padding.
No reason to encapsulate <h1> in a <div>

The title in the Website Development page is misspelled.

I like the colors, very easy on the eyes.

I have never seen any install popups for it before, I have only tested on a few macines tho and all windows. Do you know what it wanted you to install?
Thanks

Ok I'll fix the <h1> in the <div> easily enough but how does padding work and how can I change the fixed width so it still works in most browsers?

I have fixed the spelling mistake now. Sorry.

i didnt take time to write down the name of the pop-up.. but good news is, its gone...

i woudl question who your ad server is though.. I am willing to bet it came from there.

i tested it again a few times, and it never came back, so i think it was a temporary thing... guessing those ads...

Is it possible to change the page so it adapts to the users resolution?

Thanks for all the help

Yes, instead of defining the dimensions with px, use % instead.

Also, not really feeling the Applet menu. The links are too far a part, and the letter spacing when mousing over them can be a bit confusing or odd for some people.

Also, you may want to think about fixing the Applet to make it valid, or remove the Valid XHTML button. Currenly the site doesn't validate with the Applet code in there.

/* Light at end of tunnel */

The 'popup' so described was probably the one suggesting you install the java engine... I didn't, which kind of explains the lack of menu bar...

NOOOOOO Stay away from the light... (sorry, couldn't resist)

I have removed all the Java stuff so the page now validates properly and no one will get confused, thanks everyone
