Buddy Icon Help!

i recently have been trying to make a buddy icon, im told that there is a way to use javascript that when someone clicks on the icon it would automaticly become their buddy icon. anyone know it?

for Aol Instent Messenger, there is a way that if you have the icon hosted on a web site that using javascript people can set their icon just by clicking on a link. :)
