Just kidding, but really, you need to have some sort of particular problem if you are going to request the assistance of some of the heavy hitters that lurk in these parts.

It sounds like you are looking to put JavaScript into your page(s) simply because you have heard of it and it sounds like something that will improve your page(s).

It's not that simple. You are probably best-off with checking-out some tutorials on the subject first. Then see if it is something that you wish to pursue further.

Without a particular problem to solve for you, no one here can really help you.

(oh... and to address your one point: JavaScript can go pretty much anywhere on a page. It depends on what it's function is. So you see... you gotta have a need for it before you can utilize it)
