dhtml / java dropdown menu problems with hotmetal pro 6

I am trying to place dhtml java script on my site to give me a dropdown menu for links. I am using hotmetal pro 6 as my editor. An existing site being face-lifted needing to use the same hotmetal editor. I started with version 4 then version 6 with the web site. Can't really change editors now in mid-stream to a Dream Weaver or whatever.
