Browser chrome cannot be removed unless you open a new window. Moreover, things like this should not be done — the browser window is property of the user and should not be messed with.

Thanks so much, fredmv. now it's clear enogh. In fact, i use IE to be my presentation platform, to accodate mpeg files. I prepare button for my users, so that why i have to get rid of some window properties.

in this case i have to set timer for the index page and re-direct to my menu page (which previously was my index page).Do u think is this the best solution?

you can always open a new window and close the current one

just trying some things out and IE pops up that annoying (but logical) message if you try to close the window

how about you just have the orignal go to a boring page that says loading or something, and open a new window

I'm gonna take fred's side on this, I cant stand "chromeless" pages. It irritates me to no end, b/c, like he said, the browser is mine and just b/c you can remove this stuff doesn't mean you have a right to :)
