Okay you guys will probably shoot this idea full of holes but it occured to me and I want to see what you all think.

I'm new at this, I'm trying to put my own new site together and it's coming along slowly but surely. I am also creating my own "Start Page" with all my links and stuff. Rather than making my startpage "no-access" to the others who will be using my site, why can't I just give it a unique extention and leave it out of my public_html folder? I will be he only one to see it in my FTP utility.

I could call it, mysite.com/y22lb7.html or anything weird like that and only I would know it exists and what it is called so what is the chance of anyone else accessing it?

Sooooooo, I'll go slip into my flack-jacked and post this and see what happens. Heh heh heh...

Tonino. :D

Ouch, I never thought of the obvious. Thanks, I'll go back to the regular way.

how could a search engine pick it up if there is no link to it? none of them have access to crawl the actually directories, only the links (to my knowledge at least)

Okay Sam, you have my interest. I'm going to sit back and watch what happens with your post.

Incidently, to whoever is responsible, this site is a dream to navigate. I've been to some and seen people still trapped in there since 1997.
