Search engines (How to get the best of them)

Hi,

I just redesigned my web site www.chantelleart.com http://www.chnatelle and i also worked on details to get the best from the search engines: Presentation, text, key , meta...) I have in the past used free services to have my site referenced BUT I will be happy if you let me know what you did and do yourself : Go to each engine one per one, or use the services of companies (free, Expensives,)
Which way you do, do you go back to the serach engines or to the cpmpanies very often,

www.dmoz.org feeds to google msn aol and others, if you get on there you could see your site on other major engines. Yahoo and all the web have their own sit submission forms.

Learning CSS and getting rid of your bloated code would do wonders too. I have some CSS links in my sig you can check out.
