Microsoft Word Parsing

I am trying to find a suitable java parser for Microsoft word! Does anyone know of an open source version, my sttempts in developing one, whilst fine in the parsing sense appear disasterous in terms of machine performance.

Given that this just a piece of functionality I require for a wider project, I am throwing the towel in, it's taken too long and deviated from my objective.

Can anyone point me in the dirction of one that works?
