How do I create a custom email that has a table, background colour and images?

You'll need to use html for this.... and then it'll depend upon who is receiving it as some email clients won't accept anything other than text (or the user has this specified).

Could you let us know what e-mail client are you using?
With this info will probably be able to tell you how to turn the HTML option "on".

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by email client, but I am on a Mac using outlook express. Does that help?

Your email client is exactly that - Outlook Express.

But not knowing Mac's I'm afraid I don't know what settings are available or how to acces them.

If you go to the "tools" menu and select the tab "send" you will see that the default option of Outlookexpress is to send messages as HTML. The other option is plain text.

Once your HTML option is selected click on the "compose" tab. You'll see the stationary option where you can select templates for your e-mails.

I'm sure it'll take you no time to create your own ones.
